March 5-7 Chairman Katie Flanigan and PR Director Jeff Emanuel of the UGA College Republicans attended the American Israel Public Affairs Committee's Policy Conference 2006 in Washington, D.C. where speakers such as former Israeli Prime Minister (and current candidate) Benjamin Netanyahu, Vice President Dick Cheney, and US Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton spoke of the growing nuclear threat in the Middle East against Israel and its allies, of the threats posed by the governance of Hamas in Palestine, and of the need to maintain the strong ties between America and Israel. With 5,000 delegates in attendance, Congressional speakers (including Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH) and Majority Whip Roy Blunt (R-MO)), "how-to" lobbying information sessions, and a strong overall education of Israel's struggle in their battle for peace, this conference proved to be more than impressive.
One message was clear throughout the weekend: nuclear proliferation in Iran must be stopped and the ability to produce such powerful and lethal weapons must not remain in the hands of a "leader" who claims that "Israel must be wiped off the map."

I personally really appreciate you both being there and joining us for the AIPAC conference. It is encouraging to know that there are outstanding, knowledgeable leaders at the university, and as an Israeli, it is inspiring to see non-jews become active in supporting Israel's right to exist. Thank you!
Very interesting stuff. If you want to see something crazy and hilarious go to Bartholomew's blog for a good laugh.
