the war against indoctrination continues...
Sean Allen, a 16-year-old sophomore at Overland High School in Aurora, Colorado, finally decided to fight back against his anti-American, anti-capitalist geography teacher. Sick of being subjected to leftist rants, Allen recorded teacher Jay Bennish's latest diatribe.
The audiotape, which can be heard here , includes such leftist gems as "America is probably the single most violent nation on planet Earth," "Peru and China have the right to use chemical weapons on North Carolina to kill tobacco," "the American flag is the same as the nazi flag," and "the World Trade Center was a military target." Bennish also said that there were "eerie similarities" between President Bush's rhetoric and "things that Adolf Hitler used to say."
...with a small victory
The recording garnered almost instant national attention, withAllen and his father making appearances on the nationally syndicated Sean Hannity radio show. The audiotape was played on the Rush Limbaugh program, and they are scheduled to appear on Fox News's Hannity and Colmes tonight at 9, as well.
The earned media coverage forced the school board into an emergency meeting, and at midday a spokesperson for the Cherry Creek School District surfaced to announce that Bennish had been "placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."
9news, the local television news outlet, took care to report this with extreme left-wing bias, publishing only the least innocuous of Bennish's quotes, taking a tone while reporting that it is only "Allen's father [who] thinks that the comments made in the recording are biased and inappropriate for a geography class," and making sure to clarify the teacher's suspension thus: "This is not a disciplinary action; the school district wants to remove him while they sort through the rest of the investigation."
